Art in the Pen Skipton
Art in the Pen Skipton
Skipton Art in the Pen. We have been visiting Art in the Pen for about 7 years. It’s a good show, Lots of artists selling their goods in pens that are normally used for the Cattle auction. The Artists cover a wide range of crafts from ceramics, paintings, needlework, woodwork and a lot more crafts too. We have some work by Helen Russell, and Mark Smith from here. Art in the Pen is a well-established and highly regarded art and craft fair. The show runs each year in Thirsk and Skipton Auction Marts. From humble beginnings, the event has developed into what many now consider to be the North’s leading art event.
Back in 2005, Art in the Pen started out as a relatively small number of artists. Transforming cattle pens into galleries to sell their original work. The organic and informal nature of the event really captured the attention of visitors. Who now return each year in increasing numbers. Today, Art in the Pen has flourished into a sprawling event. With an abundance of creativity and craftsmanship at every turn.
The continued success of Art in the Pen is partly down to its relaxed and friendly environment. The events are a great way for visitors to strike up a conversation with our artists. Meet other art and craft enthusiasts. Whether you’re a collector or buying for the first time. Art in the Pen provides a wonderful opportunity to discover new, emerging and established talent.
