Lynwood and Co Burford
Lynwood and Co Burford
We came across a branch of Lynwood and Co Cafe while visiting St Mary’s Church. (notable for its complete set of 28 medieval stained-glass windows) at Fairford. It was early and we had just had a coffee at the hotel. So we had a look at the menu and clocked it for a visit another day in the future.
Then a few hours later we found this branch of Lynwood and Co Burford and decided to stop for a coffee and a cake. It was a good choice, the coffee was excellent and the cake was equally good. Nice surroundings with a few sofas and wooden tables. The part-panelled wooden walls made it feel warm and cosy.
Awards
They have been voted Best Coffee Shop of the Year 2016 at the Cotswold Life Food & Drink Awards. Lynwood and Co Cafe was featured in the 2017 Guardian list of the 50 best breakfast places in the UK.
Sourdough Bread
Their bread which is also available for take Is lovingly hand-crafted in their bakery The Hatherop estate. Using traditional sourdough slow fermentation methods results in an easily digestible flavoursome loaf. They source their blend of organic flours from Shipton Mill in Tetbury.
I am quite sure we will be back for lunch one day soon. If not at this branch then one of the other locations.
