If you’re seeking an enchanting getaway, this destination should be at the top of your list. We stayed with the same camping company in Biarritz, Camping Yelloh! Village Ilbarritz Côte basque. That was a lovely site and a good price, so we chose the same site for Bordeaux. It was the best location, the closest and also had the right travel links to get into the City of Bordeaux.

Travel to Bordeaux

We travelled to Bordeaux on one of the wonderful trams that glide through the city. We caught the Tram from Parc des Expositions which was near our campsite (Yelloh! Village Camping Bordeaux Lac) It was about 25 minutes journey from outside of the City. A single fare was 1.50€. Bordeaux’s tramway system is not just a means of transportation; it’s a symbol of the city’s commitment to sustainable urban development and a convenient way for tourists to explore its many attractions. With its sleek and modern design, the tramway seamlessly blends with Bordeaux’s historical architecture, making it an integral part of the city’s charm.

From the site, you can catch a bus (right outside the gate) to Parc des Expositions and then take the tram. You can also walk to the tram from the campsite, it is about a 20-30 minute walk.
