In 1910, he founded the Regional Museum of Folk Arts and Crafts, now known as the Ethnographic Museum. Serving as its first director until the end of World War II, Tončić’s dedication extended to the artistic realm. He also played a pivotal role in establishing the Split Art Gallery from 1931 to 1941. Kamilo Tončić’s legacy lives on, etched into the cultural fabric of Split, where he passed away on June 29, 1961.
